what is SEARU?
Southeast Asians of Rutgers (SEARU) was established to unite and serve as an active resource for individuals interested in Southeast Asia, as well as its culture and affairs, at Rutgers University-New Brunswick and beyond. As a student organization, SEARU is composed of students from diverse backgrounds, all striving towards a single mission:
To promote and foster a deeper understanding of Southeast Asian culture through educational initiatives, community bonding, and fun events!
SEARU is focused on the cultures and people of the 11 Southeast Asian countries of Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
